Google Maps Now Supports Apple’s CarPlay

Be an Android or iOS user, Google Maps has always been the go-to application for maps. The app has been on the Apple app store for a while now and is supported on the iPhone, iPad and also on the Apple Watch. Now, the app support has been further expanded to support on CarPlay too. Apple released the iOS 12 recently, and though it has made some significant changes to the iPhone and the iPad, there have also changes been made to the CarPlay as well.

With this new update, Google Maps can be used, just as Android supported devices in cars. Waze was also expected to be added to the CarPlay support but turns out that Google, the parent owner of the app decided to let Google Maps to be supported, and thus by itself some time to work on Waze. Though it is not here yet, the app can be expected to arrive pretty soon, with more and more functionality like third-party turn by turn apps and also an additional default setting as well.

Alternative Apps

This is good news for iOS devices because now this means more alternatives to Apple Maps, and also a variety of choice on where you want to go and also when. Though Apple is famous for not allowing users to change a default setting, it can be expected that Apple would be changing that pretty quick.

Applications to Choose From

CarPlay is all about getting the information you need without a much of distraction. Basically, you should get what you want without taking your eyes off the road or spending a lot of time before you begin your journey.

But, what is actually wrong with Apple Maps? Well, the app might be expanding its hold on maps and routes, but the application still does not have the kind of information that Google has. Apple has never really placed a lot of emphasis on maps. At least not like Google. Google has always been very serious about its maps applications, and there are tons of features that you can explore and use if you want to get someplace quicker and easier.
