Google Assistant Gets New Look and Functionality

Personal Assistants are clearly winning over our phones, but only for the good. They help us schedule our day, organize appointments and help search whatever we need with only our voice. And undoubtedly it is the Google Assistant that is leading the pack. Now though we predominantly use personal assistants only by voice, now a visual appeal is also up. Google has upgraded the Google Assistant with a new look that cleans up the very few rough edges it had.

The Google Assistant has got some pretty huge visual overhauls since the time it was released. The aesthetic has become better, and the overall look and feel have also been upgraded. The initial versions primarily focused on voice, but slowly the company is taking into consideration the look and feel aspect of it too. This new upgrade from Google just makes this better.

Aesthetic Appeal

This new update is rolling out to both Android and iOS, and this redesign is to bring in the whole experience to the users. Now, looking at the Google Assistant and the new functions is something you would look forward to. The slick animations, the crisp icons, the varying new tools and functionalities, and also the amazing looking font that Google has been using throughout all its services.

But this is not just about the look and feel. This new update is also about productivity as well. Now, you can do a lot with the Google Assistant just with both voice and touch. For example, if you have a smart home appliance connected, you could just ask the Google Assistant to reduce the light. The Assistant would do that, but it would also show a cursor that would allow you too to be in control and adjust to your delight.

Functional Updates

But why these changes? One reason. Save time. Why do we have personal assistants? We want to save time, don’t we? That is exactly what Google wants you to do. Save time typing, swiping and talking with the Google Assistant.

This new functionality is also being extended to developers, and now they too can use this newly enhanced appeal for their services and easily use them to extend their actions. This new visual and functional upgrade by Google is not just for smartphones but also for smart home devices with screens. LG and Lenovo are releasing smart screens that are equipped with the Google Assistant. These new upgrades assure that the Assistant is expanding and fast.
